Five Fresh White Tees for Spring

04.02.19

Hello, friends! Wow, it’s been a while. I’ve been in hibernation mode thanks to endless gray days and cold temps. Thankfully the first signs of spring are showing here in the midwest and I’m overflowing with inspiration of all sorts.

As I evaluate my wardrobe needs looking towards the warmer months, I realized I am in need of a new white tee or two. (And I am proud to say that my last one lasted me four years of frequent wearing!) Given that I am much more intentional with my purchases these days in regards to both environmental impact and ethical production (see this post for reference), I did some searching and comparing of my top white tee shirt contenders. I thought this information might be useful to some of you as well, so I compiled a round up of my five favorite ethically made white tees.

A note about sticker shock

It’s very likely that you may have seen the prices of these tees and thought, “THAT MUCH FOR A TEE SHIRT?!!” This is a pretty normal reaction as you transition away from the fast fashion machine and the mentality it creates within us. There truly is a mental shift required to move beyond the initial sticker shock. Elizabeth Cline explains it in exceptionally well researched detail in Overdressed but the best way to sum it up is that garments should be viewed as an investment that will last many years instead of weeks or months. As is often repeated in the slow fashion world, cheap clothing may not cost you much but it is costing someone, somewhere. Buy better, less often, and costs to you will even out.

One More Thing

Nothing about this post is sponsored. I have purchased items from most of the above manufacturers before, and am satisfied with the quality enough to recommend some of their other products to you.
