Friends, I am SO excited to share this fun post with you today. As you may know from past posts, my mindset in regards to fashion and consumption has evolved over time to focus on purchasing better quality items less often and seeking out companies that focus on ethical production. As a result, I have been seeking out ethical replacements for my former fast fashion staples.
Denim has been one of the trickier things for me to source, so I was beyond thrilled when I learned that ABLE was releasing a denim line. My first introduction to them was through their beautiful leather bags and other accessories which I still adore. My beloved Mamuye tote was stolen last year but I do use my Meles carryall every single day!
As with practically all of their products, their denim selection is perfectly in line with my natural style aesthetic, so I have been very glad to add some of their pieces to my wardrobe over the last several months. I swear, these Elvira high rise jeans got me through the winter months, wearing them as often as was socially acceptable. Now with warm weather, I’m absolutely loving these Ileana high rise jeans. They have the perfect amount of stretch while the fabric still feels substantial, and I adore the wash and the distressing. So perfect for that casual summer vibe! Also pictured here is their comfy and cute Odaliz tank that I can’t stop wearing.
In case you missed my past posts about ABLE, their focus is on creating sustainable jobs for women to help end generational poverty. Their manufacturers are audited on workplace equality, safety and wages. While any company working to make a change to improve the lives of their workers is great, I take an extra measure of comfort from companies such as ABLE where this focus was central when the company was initially created.
Will your on trend denim cut-offs look and feel even better when the workers who made them receive fair treatment? Heck yeah they will! And maybe you’ll help spread the word about thoughtful purchasing from companies doing good things while you’re raking in the compliments. (Also pictured here is their Katy deep scoop tee, a forever favorite of mine.)
