At this time of year with sweet treats everywhere you turn and holiday parties and functions galore, a little bit of balance is what I seem to be craving. A couple of months ago I invested in a juicer (a real one, not just a citrus juicer, though I still adore mine and use it constantly.) Though I initially bought it for cocktail making (more on that later), I now use it almost daily for actual juicing.

This kale pear apple juice has become a fast favorite in our house. This juice is delicious and refreshing as it is, but it gets kicked up a notch with a dose of fizz from kombucha mixed in and an extra note of sweetness from a tiny bit of vanilla extract. It’s perfect for this time of year since the ingredients are all in season. I have been loving it after my workouts or on mornings when I don’t feel hungry enough to eat much for breakfast. If you have a juicer hanging around collecting dust, maybe this recipe will inspire you to put it to use!
