Yesterday I hosted a baby shower in honor of my good friend April.  She and her husband are expecting their baby boy early next month and we cannot wait to meet him!  I was thrilled to host her shower and tried my best to make it extra special for her.  I coordinated the homemade invitations and the decor to go with her gorgeous green and white nursery.  It was a brunch shower and the food turned out wonderfully!  I will be featuring several of the recipes on the blog throughout the next few days.

The spread (minus the cake – it arrived a bit late):

The gorgeous and delicious cake!  (No, I did NOT make this!  My talented friend Danielle did.)  It was a lemon creme cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream under the fondant.  AMAZING!

The menu was as follows:
Beverages:
juicy iced tea (green tea mixed with pomegranate juice)
strawberry lemonade

Food:
mini lemon poppy seed and blueberry muffins
apple cheddar and chocolate chip scones
tropical fruit salad
smoked salmon rolls
pesto palmiers
pineapple chicken salad sandwiches
stuffed strawberries

Favors:
Oreo truffles

Here are some other detail pictures:

Handmade invitations by moi.

Ten of these tissue pom poms hung over the dining table.

I dyed these onesies with Rit dye for a cute background during games and gifts.
Reuseable Blumeboxes filled with daisies were a great way to spruce up several surfaces.

Boxes of green and white drizzled Oreo truffles for favors.

Mommy and Andrew after it was all over – what a fun party!
