As 2012 winds down, I am very much looking forward to 2013 and hoping for many better days.  However, it’s always fun to look back through the blog and be reminded of the many wonderful new recipes we tried over the course of the year.  In the next few days I’ll recap my own personal favorites from this year, but first I thought I’d figure out what posts have been the most popular with my readers.  As usual, mac and cheese and cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes are the highlight for you all!  Here are the top 10 most popular posts from the past year on Annie’s Eats.

Mexican Lasagna

Mac and Cheese Bites

Cucumber Bites with Garlic Herb Filling

Panera Mac and Cheese

Cupcake Basics: Cream Cheese Frosting

    Hi Annie,
Thank you for all your work on your blog. It is my go to for sweet suggestions (the eggnog cupcakes were very good, especially in “mini” form). I think the two favorite kitchen things that I learned this year were 1) you can freeze cooked beans and that 2) unbaked scones can be frozen. So now I can make hummus whenever I want and same with scones (thus avoiding having a dozen scones tempting me from the kitchen counter). Happy New year and all the best for a happy and healthy one.

Aw, I love to hear what your favorite tips were. Thanks for sharing! I agree, cooking dried beans and freezing them has been a major game-changer for us as well. Thanks so much for reading! Happy new year to you!

I’ve really loved your “basics” posts this year! Chicken stock, puffed pastry, canned tomatoes- I love that I am able to make all of these and know exactly what the ingredients are instead of reading a label filled with things I don’t need.

Awesome! These are some of my most favorite posts to write. Let me know if you have more suggestions of similar topics you would like to see covered. Thanks for reading!

  • Just wanted to let you know this is one of my favorite food blogs. The pictures are gorgeous, and I have a few standby’s I come back for over and over (chocolate cookies!)
