As the year draws to a close, bloggers everywhere take time to review their postings over the past year and round up some of the highlights.  Last year I only posted about my personal favorites from the year, but this year I thought it might be fun to see what posts were your favorites as well.  It comes as no surprise that you all have pretty good taste, and also that you really love sweets, specifically cupcakes.  Here are the top 10 most popular posts from this year on Annie’s Eats.

Queso Blanco Dip

Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes

How to Decorate Sesame Street Cupcakes

Giant Double Chocolate Cookies

How to Make Filled Cupcakes

Soft Frosted Sugar Cookies

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread

Stock the Freezer: Make Ahead Meals

Salted Caramel Chocolate Shortbread Bars

Lemon Blueberry Cupcakes

Be sure to check back tomorrow for some of my favorites!

  • I actually made the queso blanco dip, so I can vouch for its deliciousness. Great round up!

  • these all look fantastic! mmmmmmmmm. :)

Annie, I think I am responsible for the Salted Caramel Chocolate Shortbread Bars being so popular. I keep clicking on them to look at the picture and lick the screen. Sorry.

Dang man, we DO have good taste! LOL I’m SO making those salted caramel shortbread bars. You’d think I’d be sick of stuff like that but that lasted about 2 days. Better keep the treadmill revved up.

my favorite of 2011 was easily “herbed risotto with chicken and caramelized onions”. SO yummy. i will make that one forever.

  • ALL of your recipes are amazing, but my personal favorite is your chocolate peanut butter cup cookies!

  • I think I’m responsible for at least half the hits for the salted caramel shortbread bars. I made them for Xmas and not only was I looking at the recipe many times, everyone in my family wanted the recipe after they tried them. THEY ARE SO GOOD!

  • Delicious favs — I can see why everyone liked these posts!

Would you consider sharing some of these this week in our “Best of 2011” recipes party? These recipes would be a great addition!

  • Amanda Vanderpool

Ahh I’ve had that cinnamon sugar pull-apart bread on my “to make” list forever!!

  • I had the Lemon Blueberry Cupcakes (made by someone else) and I adapted the Cinnamon Pull-apart-bread to whole wheat, Learned how to fill a cupcake, and tried the giant double chocolate cookies.

Can’t wait till tomorrow to see how I match up on that list.

  • Unfortunately I’ve only had the chance to make one thing on this mouth watering list (the pumpkin spice latte cupcakes), but that one thing was AWESOME! The smell of those cupcakes alone was enough to make your eyes roll back into your head! Looks like I have some bqakign to do.

    Queso. Blanco. Dip?
Seriously Annie, I could kiss you right now, just straight up make out with you.

  • Great list! Your Sesame Street cupcakes were awesome, and although my piping skills aren’t too good, I need to try this. The pull-apart bread reminds me a lot of monkey bread, which I love.

    Oh Annie…
I have only recently found you which makes me sad because I feel like I have missed SO much. But happy that 2012 is going to be filled with baking extravagana! (As I type this peanut butter fudge is cooling in the fridge.)
    I do have a question though…
I have food allergies (mostly soy) as does my boyfriends son (peanuts and tree nuts as well as lactose intolerance). Would you ever consider exploring options especially for us?
Right now I am using dairy free soy butter for kid recipes, but I can not have them… And he can not have regular recipes I make.
I have found that rice milk is the closest thing to real milk when baking. I would love to use Biscoff spread instead of peanut butter in recipes but it is much thinner.
SO…if you would like a challenge for 2012 would you keep your eyes peeled for allergy freindly ideas?
Thanks for all that you do!!
    Happy New Year!!

  • Yes indeed, there were some downright AMAZING recipes and tutorials on your blog this year. I had such a wonderful time reading all of them, and I can’t wait for what you’ve got in store for us for ’12!!

  • Mary

Wow, I have actually made everything on your list that included the recipes!!! I guess that qualifies me as a tru blog stalker. Thank you for sharing your amazing recipes.

  • I remember most of these (and actually made some of them). Here’s to more of your wonderful recipes in 2012!

  • Liz

Congrats on another tasty year! Your “How to Fill Cupcakes” tutorial is what led me to your blog in the first place, so it will always be one of my favorites!

  • Laurel @ LollysSweetTreats

I made the queso blanco dip and the giant double chocolate cookies over the past year. Both were glorious. Your blog will always be my favorite, Annie. Thanks for all the hard work you do!

  • pat1645

Some fantastic recipes! I am so glad I started reading your blog this year.

  • All of your recipes look wonderful! I want to make the Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread! It looks so good. Your photos are just beautiful!

  • Leahsthoughts

I made those caramel shortbread bars the other day and all I can say, is WOW! They are amazing. Thanks for the recipe.

Oh the Lemon Bluberry Cupcakes!! If you got a dollar for everytime I hit that page up forthe recipe you’d be rich!
I have to say Annie the BEST feature ( well one of of course) of the new blog update is that I constantly hit “save to home screen” on my iphone on a ton of your recipes. People laugh at how many pages of my phone are recipe links and not Apps. Usually a Link to your recipes just provides a tiny screen shot of the webpage but now every single link from your website is your trademark yellow polka dot background with the whisk. Looks like an Annies Eats App and my phone links look soo cool :)
Got me thinking – you so gotta do an App one of these days – is it on the cards perhaps one day? Thanks for a wonderful year of recipes – looking forward to what’s to come in 2012!

  • Well, that’s a fine collection of delectable photos and recipes! I just had a PInterest party! I’ve been faithfully following your blog for several months. Thanks for all the beautiful photos and lovely recipes. Wishing you the best for 2012.

  • If you made an Annie’s Eats App, I would save up ALL my money for an iPhone!

  • I had queso blanco dip the other day for the first time and this round up couldn’t have come at a more opportune time! Can’t wait to try that out :)

    Happy New Year!
