Peach has long been a favorite ice cream flavor of mine.  There is just something about that winning combination of peaches and cream.  This ice cream is sweet, creamy, and reminds me of summertime.  I’ve made peach ice cream before but decided to try a different recipe this time around.  This version comes from David Lebovitz and contains sour cream (just like the best strawberry ice cream), and thanks to both of these facts, it is far superior to the first recipe.  The sour cream gives this a wonderfully creamy texture and a very slight tang to balance the sweetness of the peaches.  I kept offering Ben other dessert options so I could keep this stuff to myself :)  Since peach season is in full swing, this is the perfect time to enjoy some peach ice cream.  Next time I might add a tablespoon or two of peach schnapps because really, why not?  Yum.

Now, in honor of National Ice Cream Month (AKA the greatest themed month ever), I’m doing a series of giveaways.  Check it out!
First up, we have two sets of these adorable ice cream bowls and coordinating spoons from Crate and Barrel.  How cute are these?!  I have had my eye on them all summer and decided they needed to be shared with you all.   I have an obsession with ice cream bowls.  Ben likes to joke that even using my wide angle lens I couldn’t fit all the bowls I own in one picture :)

Second, we have two copies of The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz (AKA The Bible of Ice Cream).  If you make your own ice cream, this book is an absolute necessity.  Enough said.

And finally, one lucky reader will win an ice cream maker!  I’ve got to keep spreading the homemade ice cream love.  I’m offering the option of either the KitchenAid mixer ice cream attachment OR the Cuisinart stand alone model depending on whether or not you have a KitchenAid mixer base.

So – five opportunities to win!  Are you pumped?  To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this post telling me a flavor of ice cream you’d like to try making at home.  Or, if you are new to ice cream making, what’s the first flavor you would like to try?   Also be sure to include in your comment which of these prizes you would like to be eligible for should your entry be chosen (one, two or all three – for example, if you already have an ice cream maker you only want one of the other two options, etc.)

The Rules:
One entry per person, U.S. residents only.  Commenting will close on Sunday, July 17 at 10:00 pm, EST.  Entries that do not follow the entry requirements will not be considered.  Five winners will be chosen at random and announced next week.  Good luck!

All giveaways brought to you by yours truly :)
(Product photos from Crate and Barrel and Amazon)

  • Yield about 1 quart

Ingredients

1 1/3 lbs. ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and coarsely chopped
½ cup water
¾ cup sugar
½ cup sour cream
1 cup heavy cream
¼ tsp. vanilla extract
A few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice

Directions

  • 01

Combine the peaches and water in a medium nonreactive saucepan.   Cook over medium heat, covered, stirring once or twice, until the peaches are soft and cooked through, about 10 minutes.  Remove the pan from the heat, mix in the sugar, and set aside to cool to room temperature.

  • 02

Add the peaches and their juices to a blender or food processor with the remaining ingredients.  Pulse briefly so that the mixture is well combined.  For a smooth ice cream with no chunks of fruit, continue processing until smooth.  Chill the mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator.  Once chilled, transfer to your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  9. AnnieNSD says:

I want to make dulche de leche with toffee almond pieces. I would like to be eligible for all 3, but my 1st choice is the ice cream maker!

  10. joan says:

I would love to make raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. Thanks so much for the opportunity. I’d like the Cuisinart ice cream maker. I have such fond memories of picking peaches and making fresh peach ice cream in our old wooden ice cream maker with the salt and ice etc. yummy

  11. Since I don’t have any of those things, I would love them ALL but would probably benefit from the ice cream maker most – so if my name was drawn that would be my 1st choice. The first ice cream I would make would be vanilla – I’m a strong believer in perfecting the base before moving us to other things,

  12. Kierstan says:

I’ve never made ice cream before, but the addition of sour cream sounds fantastic! And I think you are right on the schnapps, why not?!

I would love to win any of the prizes!

  13. Allison M says:

I have never made ice cream before…but I would love to start! I would try to see if I could make a good enough chocolate that my husband won’t have to buy Welsh Farms anymore. Lol.
I would choose the KitchenAid mixer. I have one that was my grandmothers that I don’t use often enough.

  14. Allie says:

I just bought the ice cream maker for my KitchenAid about a month ago. Sadly, we are in the process of moving so I had to let the movers pack it up and take it away. I tried your peanut butter cup recipe first and it was, of course, amazing. The one that I’d like to try as soon as we get our belongings back is a strawberry cheesecake flavor I came across, although I can’t remember where it was linked from. Maybe the Pioneer Wife? Anyways, this is the recipe – http://thefreshfridge.com/2011/03/strawberry-cheesecake-ice-cream/. Sounds delicious!

I would love to be eligible for the bowl set or the cookbook. Thanks for the opportunity!

  15. mary says:

I have a “slight” addiction to Ginger Ice Cream! I also share you addiction to bowls- although in my case it’s any bowl!! I would be happy to win any of the prizes- and I do have a KitchenAid mixer.

I LOVE basil and I use it to play off all types of flavors, so I definitely want to have Basil Ice Cream at some point in my life. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer, so the attachment would be drool-worthy, but the bowls are so cute too.

  121. Erin says:

I would try my hand at a vanilla bean & bourbon ice cream, or a chocolatey stout ice cream (a play off of these floats I made http://cookingonwhim.blogspot.com/2011/07/homemade-ice-cream-and-delicious-float.html )! I would love to win any of the prizes, I even have a kitchen aide so I would be good to go! :)

  123. Kim Weinreb says:

Hello! Well, I do love making ice cream and I have a cheapy Cuisinart but would love one or all of the prizes! I always check out cute ice cream bowls, I’d hate to live with out the “bible” of ice creams and it can’t hurt to have an extra ice cream maker in case lots of people show up.

Last summer I attempted a Toasted Coconut & Lime ice cream and let me say, DELISH!

  124. My fiance loves peaches so I’d like to try your peach ice cream recipe! To win any of the prizes would be great ;)

A friend of mine just packed up and overnighted me ice cream from a local shop (HOW AWESOME IS SHE?) and it’s a graham cracker flavor. If I had an ice cream maker, it would definitely be the first thing I would try to replicate, because WOW. It’s so good. (And almost gone! Woe!)

I would love to make a nice cinnamon ice cream to compliment a good apple, peach, pumpkin (or any really!) pie. Also, I’d love to have the ice cream maker (either of them would be lovely- I do have a Kitchen Aid). I would love to make pistachio ice-cream. Years and years ago Howard Johnson’s made the best, it was loaded with pistachio nuts (not almonds). Just this spring I had some in a shop in Portland, Maine and it was the same, delicious. Needless to say I can’t travel from North Carolina to Maine when I get the urge for some great ice cream.
I have the larger model Kitchen Aid and would love the ice-cream attachment.
Annie I love your blog, your recipes, and am amazed that someone with so much going on in her life can manage to consistently produce such delicious recipes. Thank you for all your efforts.
    Marsha

I would also love to win either the cute bowls or the recipe book.
I think once I do get an ice cream attachment (if I don’t win, I plan on buying one soon) I would start off w/ a good vanilla bean ice cream, then go from there. Strawberry is one of my favorites, so that would be a close second!

  161. I’ve never made ice cream before, so I think the first would be chocolate chip! I’d like to be eligible for all 3 prizes since I am a noob in ice cream making!

    http://gizmodo.com/5644347/how-to-make-ice-cream-at-home-without-an-ice-cream-machine

I already mastered Chocolate and Vanilla, next on my list? Strawberry (Hello, can anyone say Neapolitan?) i would love any of the giveaways!

  180. Stacey Hoover says:

I would make good, old fashioned vanilla! When I was little, I remember making homemade vanilla ice cream at my grandparent’s house–using rock salt and a hand-crank contraption. It was sooo good! I would love the chance to win the ice cream maker or the adorable ice cream bowls!

  181. Heather S. says:

I’d love to try adding chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels to the peanut butter ice cream recipe you have posted! If I’m a lucky winner, number 1 or 2 would be lovely, since I just bought a replacement Kitchen Aid bowl last week (first one I bought used on Ebay and it leaked)!

  196. Christina says:

I would love any of the giveaway items! I don’t have an icecream maker and it’s something I have been lusting over for months. But my dad has an obsession with pistachio ice cream and it’s very hard to find so he’d probably beg me to try that first :)

Sorry. Let’s try this again. I was saying since I’ve started reading your blog I’ve been inspired to try things I never thought I’d be able to make. Ice cream is one of those things. I asked for the KitchenAid ice cream maker for my birthday and since that time have made several wonderful flavors. And much to my surprise, ice cream is rather easy to make. The flavor I would like to try again is Mint chocolate chip. David Lebovitz has a recipe for it that I tried once and while it was delicious, I thought it kind of had a woodsy taste to it (the cream was infused with mint leaves – maybe I let it sit for too long?). Anyways, I would love to be eligible for the bowls or ice cream bible.

  219. maria says:

I would deff try to make chocolate icecream since it would be my first time making icecream. I’m addicted to chocolate so why not!!! i would go for the ic-cream machine first as i don’t have one, but if not ill be happy with either of the gifts…they are all great for first time users!

  243. homeschooler says:

Fun giveaway! I’d love to be entered for the ice cream maker or the bowls. This will sound unbelievable, but this spring and summer I have been able to lose that last 5 pounds I had been struggling with by indulging in an entire quart of homemade vanilla ice cream DAILY. It is filling enough that I crave and eat less calorie-filled meals. My poor ice cream maker is on its last leg but if I win this dandy one, I may branch out and try your peach recipe next. Happy ice cream month!

  244. Ashley R. says:

Hi! I’d like to try to make pineapple ice cream, I love pineapple yogurt so I think this would be heaven. Or pistachio! MMmmmm pistachios…

I have very little cooking equipment seeing as I’m newly out of a college dorm so I couldn’t use the kitchen aid attachment but the mixer would be lovely! Also I love cook books and would devour the ice cream book :) Love the blog!

  245. Andrea says:

No telling how much we ate that day but I would love to try it again!

I would love to try to replicate Baskin Robbin’s Chocolate Peanut butter. I already have a ice cream maker, but do need a good recipe book or serving-ware!

  249. Tracy says:

I’ve been thinking about getting the Kitchen-Aid ice cream maker attachment and this peach ice cream recipe may be enough to convince me (of course, I’d love to win one even more!). I remember having my great-aunt’s homemade peach ice cream every summer at the beach; this looks very familiar to the way I remember her making it. After the peach, I’d like to try making a butter pecan ice cream since it’s my go-to favorite flavor. As for the giveaways, I’d love to be eligible for all three.

  250. J.Allen says:

I would try any chocolate flavor first, then cookie dough! I would love the Kitchen Aid ice cream maker attachment.

  251. Molly says:

Those bowls are super cute, love them!! I already have an ice cream maker and the cookbook but I would love love love to have those bowls! Thanks :)

  252. Trisha Oliver says:

I have only made homemade ice cream WITHOUT an ice cream maker (which takes forever, but is so worth it) The next flavor I’m hoping to try is Praline Bacon ice cream, sweet/salty combo’s are my weakness. I would love to win any of the prizes, but especially the KitchenAid ice cream attachment!

  253. Evelyn R says:

I have never made chocolate ice cream so I think I would try that first. I would love a copy of The Perfect Scoop or the Kitchen Aid attachment.

  261. I haven’t made homemade ice cream before. I do remember my dad making it on the 4th of July every year with the old crank and rock salt method … it was HEAVEN, especially if you were lucky enough to be one of the paddles. Myy first flavor would have to incorporate toasted coconut. YUM!

  267. anne says:

I would love to be considered for all three prizes! I’ve never made homemade ice cream before – only watched as my parents had their old hand-crank model (the kind that needed copious amounts of ice and salt). But the first flavor I would make is one I haven’t had in a loooong, long time, not since the place that made it closed down: chocolate chip cookie. No cookie dough, but a brown sugar ice cream with lots of chocolate chips. Delish! Thanks Annie :-)

  268. Stephanie says:

I’ve recently discovered the wonderfulness of Nutella and came across a recipe to Nutella ice cream this week. I think it’s going to be the first ice cream I make in the ice cream maker I borrowed from my friend. 278. Kimberley says:

Hi Annie! Love your website and I too am an ice-cream lover! My favorite ice cream is my aunt’s homemade lemon. But the next I’m going to try at home? I found a great avocado ice cream recipe I’m dying to try!

Crazy, right?

  285. Dana says:

I don’t own an ice cream maker so would enjoy that, but any of the give aways would be appreciated!

I have always wanted to make homemade ice cream! I think I subconsciously keep old gallon ice cream buckets around for the day when I own a maker and can do it!

  302. Emily H. says:

Coffee with chocolate chips in it! I’m craving it just thinking about it… I would love any of the three prizes (though I too am a huge bowl addict and might require more cabinet space to go along with the bowls…)

  303. Sarah K says:

I’ve never made my own ice cream so I would start pretty basic… vanilla, chocolate or strawberry, depending on my mood.

Please enter me in all three! =)

  304. Andrea says:

I would love to be able to make a good mint chocolate chip. I would like to be considered for all three. I have been wanting to see how good a slushee the Cusinart makes!

  305. Rosalyn says:

My sister and niece and I wanted to make some chile mango ice cream last week. I like the bowls, book and mixer attachment. But I don’t know how useful the book is without an ice cream maker attachment.

    Mmmmmmmm… Cookie dough!

  314. Marianne R. says:

With all of the wonderful fruits and berries in season right now, I’d love to try a “triple berry” ice cream (in lieu of triple berry pie) with maybe strawberries, blackberries and raspberries or substituting blueberries for any of the above. I would love to be entered for all of the chances! Many thanks!

  315. Katherine says:

Fitting for this post..I would make peach ice cream. I live in an area famous for the peaches and I absolutely love them.
As far as the contest, all of the prizes are amazing but my first choice would be the KitchenAid attachment for my mixer.

  316. Michelle says:

I love ice cream making but I have played it safe thus far. Plus, my ice cream maker just bit the dust so this would be a good time to win a new one!!! I want to try your cookie dough ice cream. It sounds amazing and I think my daughter would love it.

  317. Shauna says:

In my house nothing is better than chocolate except for chocolate with pieces of chocolate in it :) All 3 prizes are great. Thanks Annie!

  318. Karen K says:

I am DYING for an ice cream maker. Ice cream is by far my favorite dessert. I think I would most want to try and make mint chocolate chip. I know it’s ambitious for my first time, but who not? So basically any of those three prizes would be excellent, but I’d be pulling for the ice cream maker. :D

  319. Tara says:

A few years ago, I had the best Tiramisu gelato at an Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. I have been stock piling gelato and ice cream recipes ever since, but have not purchased a machine yet. I would definitely start simple with chocolate-master the basics and then get adventurous!

  320. Crystal says:

I have never made ice cream at home, but would love to start. Although I love all ice cream, my first attempt would probably be a classic chocolate. While I am eligible for all three, my first choice would be the kitchenaid attachment.

  321. Megan says:

What an awesome giveaway! I already have the Kitchen aid ice cream maker; which is awesome. Next on my list of flavors to try is chocolate cherry using fresh cherries. Yum! I am eligible for the first bowls and book giveaway.

Coffee chocolate chip ice cream! I love that there is a piece that can be used with the KitchenAid Mixer – had no idea!

  324. Trish says:

I have never made ice cream before, so I’d probably start with a simple chocolate or vanilla. As far as the gifts go, I’d probably pick the KitchenAid attatchment or the bowls since your website has so many recipies to keep me busy! Thanks for the great giveaway! :)

  325. Amber T says:

Peanut butter cup has always been something I would like to try. Our ice cream maker has been broken for a couple of years, so I would love any of the prizes. Thanks!!

  326. Katie says:

I have never made homeamde ice cream before, but my fiance has beem begging me to try it. Therefore, I have been begging him to buy me an ice cream maker! I would love to try making coffee ice cream! Put me in for all! Thanks!

  328. Michelle C. says:

As an avid lover of ice cream, I hate to admit that I have never tried to make it at home! I think my first batch, however, will have to be lemon flavored. Lemon with raspberry topping, and of course sprinkles. I may be 27, but sprinkles never get old:) I would love either ice cream maker! Thank you!

  329. The first ice cream I would try is a recipe for white chocolate strawberry ice cream that I found a few weeks ago. I’ve been dying to try it, but given that my ice cream maker is an inherited hand crank one…well I just haven’t had the motivation to try yet. On that note, I’d definitely qualify for all 3 because I’d LOVE an ice cream maker attachment for my stand mixer!

  330. Meena says:

The last time I made homemade ice cream was when I was cranking the machine- the old school style! I would love to make pistachio almond-it always reminds me of my childhood summers. The bowls, the book, or the attachment!

  331. Dee W says:

I only make vanilla for my kids, but would love to try some of the other flavors I keep finding on different sites!

  332. Heather L says:

I’ve never made my own ice cream before – I think mint chocolate chip would be my first flavor; it’s my fiance’s favorite! While all three giveaways look amazing, my first choice would definitely be the ice cream maker!

  333. Heather says:

We are doing an “ice cream social” theme for my daughter’s first birthday party in early September, so all of this ice cream stuff this month has been right up my alley! :)

There are so many new flavors I’d like to try making, but I still have never made a classic CHOCOLATE! So I think that needs to be first up on my list.

I already have a KitchenAid ice cream attachment, so I don’t need the maker–but would love the bowls or the book!

  334. Katie says:

I want to make some sort of Chocolate Malt Ice Cream. And that would be much easier if I had the Kitchen Aid Ice Cream Maker attachment :)

  335. AEOT says:

Definitely #3!! I have never made homemade ice cream as I don’t have an ice cream maker, and your posts always make me want to try to make it myself. Hmmm……my first flavor? Probably would be chocolate peanut butter if I didn’t start making it until the fall (and then I’d put it inside chocolate chip cookies and make sandwiches- YUM!!) or if I win (!!) and get one soon, it would probably be peach. I, too, love peach ice cream and it’s the perfect season!!

So sweet of you to sponsor all three of these, Miss Annie!
(Oh, I didn’t comment yesterday, but your daughter’s swimsuit and cap are the cutest things I’ve seen in my life!!)

  336. JulieA says:

Honestly, I’ve had trouble making a good vanilla. I have a good chocolate ice cream recipe, but my vanilla has always fallen flat. I’m in love with the ice cream cookbook, so I would have to assume the vanilla in it would top mine any day!

  337. Alex says:

I’ve been wanting to try blackberry with chocolate chunks – and I’d take which ever ice cream maker you recommend – ours stinks!

  338. Kristin H says:

I would try and make a salted caramel ice cream. For sure.

  339. JessD says:

I have never made ice cream before, but would love to try making peanut butter ice cream with chocolate chunks! I would like to be included in the drawing for all 3 prizes.

  340. Kristin H says:

And I would love any of the giveaways!

  341. Katie says:

Ahhh I would love all 3. Hate to appear greedy, but your giveaway is pure heaven. Forget making dinner, it would be ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream. I would start with either a sea salt carmel ice cream.

  342. lisa arana says:

I think my first batch would have to be strawberry. Just sounds yummy in the summer. I’d love to win one of ice cream makers. Doesn’t matter which one. :)

    thanks for the awesome giveaway.

I’ve never made ice cream so I would probalby start with regular chocolate, it’s my favorite!

  344. Ashley says:

Oh ice cream! My favorite! I’d like to try a creamy strawberry flavor!!! As for the giveaways, any would be great, but I especially need an ice cream maker! My in-laws have the cuisinart ice cream maker and it makes fabulous ice cream! I’d choose that one!

  345. Brittany K says:

I just started making ice cream with my 2 year old and so far we have only tried vanilla and chocolate chip. Both were delicious, but I would love to try a coffee flavored ice cream for myself! I would be thrilled to win any of the giveaways, but my favorite is the bowl set!

  346. Kelli B says:

I would love to try to duplicate Blue Bell’s Coconut Fudge ice cream. It is the only ice cream I buy instead of making at home. I have an ice cream maker and The Perfect Scoop so I would love to win those cute bowls!

  347. Pam says:

Oh my. I have to try this ice cream recipe. I have never seen a recipe using sour cream. Peaches are coming off now so guess what I am going to be churning this weekend?

Would love love love love..oh, did I say love?…the Kitchen Aid attachment. I just received my new mixer for Christmas and am adding pieces. So excited and proud of my new kitchen “baby”.

But – those bowls are ADORABLE.

  348. Liz Kauffman says:

I would love to win the freestanding ice cream maker, but all three are great prizes, I would probably make just plain ole vanilla first, and then vary into strawberry, and this peach sounds awesome!

  349. Julie says:

Decisions, decisions! I would love to win any of the prizes but most especially the Cuisinart ice cream maker – but really, any of them would be wonderful. As for the first ice cream I’d make – another tough decision. My personal favorite is butter pecan but I’m thinking something along the lines of Swiss chocolate or strawberry/banana (we’re pretty simple here – no exotic flavors entice us).

  350. Katie says:

Well, I’m relatively new to the ice cream-making, so I think I’d like to master basic vanilla ice cream first. I don’t have a Kitchenaid mixer, but I’d love to be eligible for the bowls, cookbook, and Cuisinart ice cream maker. Thanks so much for the sweet giveaways, Annie!

  351. Robin says:

I would have to make some double chocolate ice cream first! I would love to win that Cuisinart ice cream maker!

  352. Shawnee F says:

Strawberry ice cream is my favorite and I would love to make it at home! Please include me in all three drawings.

  353. Tara says:

WOW…what a great giveaway. I’ve never made homemade ice cream and I haven’t made the investment in an icecream maker. I would love the KitchenAid attachment as I do have a KitchenAid base at home. I think i would first like to make Chocolate ice cream as (for me) nothing beats a big bowl of GOOD chocolate ice cream ! After i mastered that maybe i would try my all time favorite ice cream which is pistachio !!!

  354. MollyC says:

Please enter me for all three prizes!! I want to make chocolate ice cream next : )

  355. Ana says:

I’d love to try making peach ice cream- you and Josie posted peach ice cream on the same day! I would like to be eligible for all the giveaways. Thank you!

I already love to make homemade ice cream and my favorite is peppermint. I always make it for my family’s Christmas gatherings. I would love to win the cook book in order to broaden my repertoire of ice cream recipes.

  357. laurel says:

i love making ice cream, but have never made my favorite flavor… cookie dough! why is that!? hmm.

i have an ice cream maker, but would love the kitchenaid attachment so i can have one less appliance in my kitchen…. or the cookbook! it has been on my wish list for a while!

  358. April A says:

I remember being a little kid in Science class and one of our teachers had us make homemade icecream in freezer bags with rock salt– just plain ol’ vanilla ice cream never tasted sooo good! I could hardly wait for it to freeze all the way before I was dipping into the baggie with my finger! Haha! Vanilla with some seasonal berry preserves on the side sounds amazing right now– I’d have to make that! I’d be thrilled with any of the items!

  359. Shantelle says:

I’ve never made ice cream before. I’d love to win the bowls, book, or the Kitchenaid ice cream attachment! My first flavor would have to be Vanilla, followed by Peach. That recipe looks yummy!

  361. Amanda M says:

I’ve had homemade ice cream before, but I’ve never been the one to make it. Hmmm. Which flavor first? I think I’d have to go with chocolate chip cookie dough. I’d go for any of the giveaways. My mom has a KitchenAid mixer and I’ve been wanting to get her the ice cream attachment. Ice cream is her weakness! :-)

  362. Stephanie says:

I would love to try the peach ice cream or a mango would be great too! I would love the book.

  363. Rachel says:

Hi Annie! I’ve always wanted to try making sorbet with berries and alcohol–like blackberry cabernet or strawberry champagne.

I would love the bowls from Crate and Barrel because I already have an ice cream maker and the amazing ice cream recipe book.

  367. Jessen says:

An Ice Cream Maker, Oh, Wowzers! I’m so Excited. My “Family” are Ice Cream Freaks! Making them Homemade Ice Cream would be a dream come true. First Choice of Flavor, Hmmmm…Vanilla with a twing of orange. Like an orange creamsicle! Yummy.

  368. Kim Oeth says:

I would love to have an ice cream maker!! I have always wanted to try your ice cream recipes, but haven’t bought an ice cream maker yet.

  369. Jennifer says:

I just got back from Ireland, where I had brown bread ice cream that was delicious, so that’s at the top of my list. (Fortunately the wonderful David Lebovitz has a recipe for that, no surprise!) I’d like to be eligible for all 3 prizes, though preferably the KitchenAid, followed by the cookbook, followed by the bowls. Thanks!

The bowls are adorable… I’m always looking for a new cookbook… and I don’t have an ice cream maker yet! For the last I would need the Cuisinart :)

  510. Jessica says:

I’ve never made ice cream before but I would love to make my favorite cookies n’ cream. I would love to win the ice cream maker and book!

  511. Misti says:

The first icecream that I would try would be some kind of coffee icecream!

  512. Danielle says:

I’ve never made ice cream at home but seeing all these recipes on blogs makes me want to start! I think I’d like to try some sort of caramel ice cream (: Yum!

  513. Andrew G says:

My favorite flavor of ice-cream has always been strawberry. I am new to ice cream making, so strawberry would be the first flavor of ice cream I would make. I would very much enjoy making ice cream all the time if I had a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker (Eligibility just for the one). My mother and I just went strawberry picking so there are plenty of strawberries stocked up in the freezer.

  514. Tamara says:

My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip or mint oreo! they are both soooo good!

  515. Britney says:

I’d like to make either vanilla bean or cinnamon; I’ve been wanting to try grilled peaches this summer topped with ice cream. All of those prizes sound amazing, I’d be happy with any of them!

  516. Melissa says:

I don’t have an ice cream maker, so I haven’t really gotten into making homemade ice cream yet. But, if I did, the first flavor I would try is cookies and cream. It has been my favorite since I was a little kid.

  517. Elizabeth says:

Classic strawberry would have to be first on my list of flavors to make, and then maybe a mint-chocolate chip for my hubby. Any of the three would be amazing to win (KitchenAid on #3).

  518. Dana C says:

I would love to make a vanilla with a coffee and caramel swirl in it. I would love any of these prizes to get me started on my ice cream making adventures!

  519. Heather says:

I have made many of your ice cream recipes in the past. I would love to make mint chocolate chip ice cream, but always have issues with the chocolate bits. I am really hoping to win a copy of The Perfect Scoop!! Fingers crossed!

  520. Wendy says:

I think I would make cookies and cream first and I would love the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. Thanks!

  521. Odette says:

  526. Esther says:

I just had some delicious intensely minty ice cream at a restaurant last night, so I definitely want to try recreating that at home. I’d be thrilled to win any of these giveaways!

  527. Miriam says:

Any one would be great but on my wish list for a while is the ice cream maker! Can’t wait to have my own. As for what I’d try – for sure chocolate first, followed by strawberry.

  528. stacy says:

My family LOVES Blue Bell Cookie Dough Ice Cream (all six kids, and my husband), so I would give that a try! It would be a blessing to receive any one of the three gifts.

  529. MaryBeth says:

I’d love to try making cookies and cream, but with a chocolate base instead of vanilla. Yum!

  530. Kristyn says:

What an awesome giveaway for this fabulous month!

Hmm.. the next flavor of ice cream I’d like to try making at home would probably be strawberry basil! It’s a new flavor at ColdStones, but I think it’d be even better to try with strawberries and basil from the garden!

I’d like to be eligible for the first two options [ice cream bowls & recipe book], because I already have an ice cream maker :)

  531. Lanette says:

    Hi Annie,

I’d love to make a fruit icecream; either peach or raspberry(my very favorite Summer fruit!). Awesome giveaway. Put me down for 2 of the 3 drawings. I have a Kitchenaid icecream attachment, and I love it.

  532. Wow- amazing giveaway Annie!
I have lots of Ice Creams to make this month yet, but first I’m thinking David Lebovitz’s Salted Caramel flavor.

Anyway- I’d be thrilled to win the bowls or the standing Ice Cream Maker- (bought The Perfect Scoop ages ago!) :D

  533. Melissa says:

I would to try making chocolate brownie. I would love any of the prizes!

  535. Melissa M says:

  536. Julie says:

I have never made ice cream but have been wanting to try for a while now. I would love to win the bowls or the machine!

  537. Katie O says:

I’ve never made ice cream myself (my parents make it occasionally but they only make vanilla – classic but boring after a while!) so if I did, I’d first make jamoca ice cream with almonds. I’d gladly accept any of the three giveaways – what a great post!

  538. Alissa says:

Strawberry ice cream – my boyfriends favorite! :) All 3 prizes please!

  539. Becky says:

My favorite kind of ice cream to make at home is cinnamon ice cream. . . . mmmmm.

  541. Angie says:

Peaches & Cream Ice Cream 1st! I looked at your recipe and thought, “I have to buy an ice cream maker now to try out this recipe. I wonder which one Annie uses.” And you had all the info below. I would love an ice cream maker that doesn’t need to be tended for an hour while I sprinkle it with rock salt!

  542. Charlotte says:

I have never made ice cream but I would have to start with peach! My whole family stops at peach stands on the way to the beach every july and we make sure to stop and eat some peach ice cream as well. I would like to be entered for all three!

  543. Mary R says:

I would love to try making red bean ice cream at home. I think I go to Japanese restaurants more for this ice cream than for the cuisine…and that’s saying something because I love Japanese food! I’ve got a great Asian grocery in my town and they carry several brands of red bean ice cream…but they’re all ridiculously expensive, and I’m sure I could do better on my own.

Were I to be randomly chosen for this amazing prize, I’d love the Kitchen Aid bowl. I keep eying it at BB&B, but every month some emergency happens and I have to use the money I set aside for “make life fun” purchases for “survive” stuff. Sigh. Grad school…the reason I’ll never be able to retire.

  544. Audrey says:

I am new to ice cream making and would try a classic strawberry ice cream first. I would love to be eligible for all three prizes. Happy summer!

  545. LF says:

  548. Melissa says:

That peach ice-cream sounds perfect to me! I’d love to try it, or a delicious looking double cookie dough recipe I’ve had my eye on. Great giveaway :)

  549. Samantha M. says:

Any flavor of homemade icecream is usually pretty delish…but I would love to try a peanut butter with chocolate chip cookie dough flavor YUMMM!!! I would be more than happy with any of the 3 prizes, but definitely want the icecream maker or attachment as my first choice :)

  550. Aysha says:

I have no ice cream maker, so I’d love to be entered in all three!

I’ve never made ice cream before, so I’d probably start with good ‘ole vanilla. I’d like to try both of your recipes, and then move on to chocolate chip cookie dough.

  551. Catherine O. says:

The first flavor I would try would be vanilla bean ice cream. Simple, but oh so delicious! :)

  553. Heather W. says:

I would love to make mint chocolate chip ice cream. I like it to be chocolaty with a little mint flavor. I would love the book or the ice cream mixer attachment. I’ve been looking at both to purchase but with a new baby on the way that’s been pushed to the back burner!

  554. I want to try coffee ice cream! I would like the bowls – too cute!

  555. Cate says:

I still haven’t made basic chocolate ice cream, which is a travesty! I would love to win the bowls (so cute!) or the cookbook, as I already have an ice cream maker.

  556. christina says:

I would love the ice cream maker! I’ve been meaning to buy one but just haven’t got around to doing so. I would probably try a coffee ice cream first, it’s one of my favorite flavors.

  557. Karen says:

I think a Pina Colada ice cream would be great. I like all the prizes…and the Kitchen Aid ice cream maker for the choice of which ice cream maker. Thanks for having this giveaway!

  558. Kalliope says:

    Ginger. Or Lavender. :)

  559. Ryanne says:

I would love to try to make Pineapple ice cream! And all 3!! Thanks

I really would love to try making salted caramel ice cream….and I don’t have an ice cream maker and would love that Cuisinart!!!!

  564. Carrie Wilson says:

I’ve never made ice cream before but really want to try. My boys favorite is chocolate so I would probably make that first. I would like the Cuisinart since I don’t have mixer yet. :)

  565. Annie, I am going to the grocery store today to buy some peaches and I am going to make your peaches and cream ice cream recipe you posted today. Peaches are my favorite fruit and I just love the sound of peaches and cream. So, I have decided to enter your contest and I would love to receive either the bowls and spoons or the ice cream makers, either one, because I do have a kitchenaid mixer.

  566. Stephanie says:

This peach ice cream looks great. Also appealing to try would be a pineapple ice cream. Yum! Enter me for all 3 please!

  567. Cynthia says:

I’ve never made ice cream before… maybe mango or watermelon? I’d like to win the kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker Attachment. Thanks!

  568. Ooooooohh, I would just start simple with chocolate as I’ve never made ice cream before. I would love to be eligible for all three and I would pick the Kitchenaid attachment!!

  569. Mmmm, I think I would start with trying Rocky Road. Or something else with chocolate and peanut butter. And then I would move on to some kind of sorbet.

  574. Hannah K says:

I’ve been wanting to try recreating Chubby Hubby – my favorite B&J flavor that the grocery store no longer sells : ( Their description is –

Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels in Vanilla Malt Ice Cream Rippled with Fudge & Peanut Butter. YUM!!

Please enter me for the bowls and the recipe book! Thanks Annie!

  575. teresa g says:

My all time favorite flavour of homemade ice cream is peach. When I was a kid, we made that every year. I would love to be making that again

  576. Erin says:

Thank you for this exciting giveaway! I have been relishing your ice cream posting and finally want to step up to making my own! Therefore, I’d like all 3 gifts- I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, so the attachment would be perfect. My reluctancy to own one thus far has been my inability to say ‘no’ to ice cream once it’s in my home- ha ha ha. I’d like to first try a rich dutch chocolate. Chocolate is my family of four’s prevailing choice in most all desserts.

  577. Stephanie Monzon says:

I would love to try a rhubarb ice cream! All of the gifts are wonderful!

  578. Randi says:

I LOVE to make Sinckerdoodle Ice cream! I first found the recipe in my grandmothers massive recipe collection when I was little. Over the years I have added touches such as crumbling day old snickerdoodle cookies into the mixture just before it is done. YUM! I would love to have the recipe book and the stand alone ice cream maker! Awesome giveaway!

  579. Suzanne says:

I’ve always wanted to make a coconut lime icecream, but I don’t have an icecream maker. I have to make icecream at my grandmother’s house, and she is not into adventurous icecream flavors. I would love to win any of these prizes!

  580. Nicksmom says:

If I were to be lucky enough to get the KitchenAid ice cream maker I would try and make chocolate peanut butter swirl ice cream. I have tried many versions, but only one company has gotten it just right. I’d love the chance to do it myself.

  581. Sarah says:

I’m such an ice cream and frozen custard fan! While my mouth is watering after looking at those peach ice cream photos above, I’d love to learn how to make butter pecan. I’ve never made ice cream before, and I’d love to learn (I’m sure my family wouldn’t object). Thanks for your yummy ideas to inspire my creativity in the kitchen. :)

  582. Kelsey L says:

I love chocolate peanut butter ice cream, but only a couple places have it how I like it. I’ve always wanted to make my own but I haven’t bit the bullet yet. I’d love the Kitchen Aid attachment!

  583. Tiffany says:

  584. Mariah says:

I have an ice cream maker and your fabulous and delicious blog has inspired me to dig it out, dust it off and use it! I think I’d like to give cake batter ice cream another shot! There’s this new flavor of Blue Bell ice cream down here in Texas, called Krazy Kookie Dough or something, that is made of cake batter ice cream and sugar cookie dough. I’d love to make my own version. ^_^

  587. Wow, what a fabulous giveaway! Peach ice cream made with my mother-in-law’s fabulous homegrown peaches is my favorite! I’ve never tried making it myself though. I’ve been wanting a kitchenaid attachment for forever, but any of those items would be amazing to win. Thanks!

  588. Yvonne B says:

With all the wonderful summertime fruits available I think I’d first want to make an ice cream with fruit in it. Mango? Peach? Strawberry? Too many to choose from! Put me down for all 3 prizes. Thanks so much for putting together such a great giveaway!

  589. I have a surfeit of blackberries right now, so blackberry ice cream has been on my mind for the last couple of days. I just got an ice cream maker (yay!) but I’ve been wishing for the book or even some cute little bowls to serve my “not yet made” ice cream in. :)Thanks for the giveaway!

I would like to be considered for all three prizes, thanks!!!

My aunt makes a to dye for berry ice cream using jello packets. I think I could eat a whole tub! Of course I would love to win any of the prizes, but I am REALLY hoping for the ice cream maker kitchen aid attachment.

  594. Heather says:

I would love to try to make mint chocolate chip. Not with actual chocolate chips in it, but more of the chocolate flakes that happen when the chocolate is poured directly on the almost finished ice cream in the ice cream maker.

I’d like to enter for all 3.

  595. Ashley says:

I would love to make any Ice cream because I have never made homemade before but my favorite is chocolate brownie ice cream. I would love the cuisinart ice cream maker because I do not have one. Thanks.

  596. Strawberry, the kind with actual pieces of strawberry in it is my most favorite. I’d like either 1 or 3, the book would be great, but I don’t make my own ice cream (yet!).

  597. Tammy says:

Chocolate!! I would love all three!

  602. Maggi says:

ahhh, David L is the master, isn’t he? I don’t own his book, so I’d love to win that. While I do own a manual (ie crank) ice cream maker, a snazzy electric would be grand too. But the ice cream flavor I have been wanting to try is the white chocolate cherry that is in his book. I saw him post about it a long time ago and it has been on my mind ever since.

Thanks for the great giveaway opportunities!

  609. Betsy says:

I’m definitely going to try this peach ice cream. My experiences with making homemade ice cream have been that they are either grainy or taste too much like whipped cream. Have never quite had the right consistency.
I would love to win the Kitchen Aid attachment as I’ve been eying it for some time, but haven’t been able to justify the expense based on my prior not so great attempts at making ice cream.

  610. I would actually try anything from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams cookbooks. I lived in Columbus during graduate school, and when I thought my thesis might crush me, I turned to Jeni’s. Now she has a cookbook and I need an ice cream maker!

  615. Emily says:

However, they checked the inventory and gave me the number for the closest store that did have them in stock. They shipped them out to me immediately, so I was able to get full sets for the giveaway. So you might want to try that if you don’t win!

  625. M.E. says:

I love peaches and ice cream so much that I’m going to have to try making this peach ice cream! And I’d like to be eligible for all three – thanks!

I would love any of the 3 but since I don’t have an ice cream maker that would probably be my first choice! I keep eyeing the kitchenaid attachment and might just have to tell my husband that I want that for my birthday in Oct, but I’d really like to not have to wait that long!!

  629. Melissa Watts says:

Thanks for all you do Annie!

  630. My friend has been on an ice cream making kick all summer and just gave me the recipe for earl gray ice cream, which he made last week! I can’t wait to try it.

  631. Ida Assefa says:

Hi Annie! I’d love to try a coffee oreo ice cream or a fresh mint ice cream. And I would be super excited to have the Perfect Scoop or the Cuisinart ice cream maker. Thanks for your amazing work. Your blog is an inspiration.

  632. Melissa says:

I’ve always wanted an ice cream maker, especially after reading about all of these delicious-looking ice cream recipes! I think I’d first like to try something with a lot of chocolate…maybe a cookies and cream variety? I’d love to be eligible for all three prizes (with the KitchenAid attachment, instead of the Cuisinart for the third)!!

  633. Since I have never made my own ice cream, I think i’d go for vanilla with a chocolate mixin of some sort. Great giveaways!

I almost bought my husband an ice cream maker for HIS birthday, just so I could finally do it. Love your blog (and that you live in Indiana, I lived there for two years and LOVED it!)

I would also love to win prize 1 or 3 (but preferably #3). :D

  674. Adrienne says:

I’ve never made ice cream because I, sadly, do not have an ice cream maker.
The first flavor I would try is definitely just a rich, decadent chocolate. I’d definitely add some mix ins like brownie bits or chocolate chunks or I may even try a chocolate banana flavor! Mmmmmmm. After that I’d make a vanilla bean ice cream with brownie bits; you just don’t see that flavor too often!

I’d really like the ice cream maker attachment for the KitchenAid mixer or the bowls. I’d love the cookbook too but it’s useless to me since I don’t have a ice cream maker :(

  696. Alice says:

I love ice cream in general so choosing which one to make first would be uber difficult!! Maybe vanilla? No. Something with fruit. No, vanilla to start off easier. No. Chocolate. No. Fruit. D’oh!

Sorry, I forgot to add which giveaway I’d like to enter! All three, please!

  701. Kelly says:

Its so hard to pick one flavor but I will say my favorite home made flavor so far is mint chip made with steaping the mint leaves. It was a serious treat.

    thanks!

  702. Martha says:

I have not made my own ice cream since I was a kid and my mom used to make it in her big noisy beast of a machine on our back porch, but I’m such an addict I would LOVE to win any of these prizes. The first flavor I would make would be raspberry, with big chunks of fresh berries…oh man.

I have had my eye on the Kitchenaid ice cream maker since the day I bought my mixer 4 short months ago. We were all drooling when I came across it.
I would like to enter to win the Kitchenaid ice cream attachment or the ice cream bowls.
Thanks Annie!!! I can’t wait (…and neither can my stomach) to see what you post next!!

  711. Jocelyn West says:

I have been dying for an ice cream machine to get creative at home this summer. I think I would like to try to make a piña colada frozen yogurt first. As far as ice cream is concerned, though, I’m a die hard cookie dough fan and would love to try a homemade version.

Since I’m already well versed in the consumption of ice cream, I think I’m all set for ice cream bowls. I would really like to be eligible to win the Cuisinart or the cookbooks, though, so I can start making my own! Thanks for the contest!

Chocolate, for sure! I’d to be entered for the Kitchen Aid attachment. :)

  718. Emily says:

holy beans, no doubt about it–the first flavor I would make in an ice cream maker at home is peach! I remember my dad making it at my grandmother’s house when I was little. Wonderful coincidence that peach was the recipe you posted!

If I get to win a prize, it would certainly be the cuisinart stand alone ice cream maker, as i unfortunately don’t have a stand mixer. If not, I would love a copy of the ice cream cookbook, even though I wouldn’t be able to make anything from it just yet :)

  719. Cameron S. says:

I am new to ice cream making but I would love to try Peach Raspberry! I would love to win the ice cream maker but I would be happy with any of the prizes! :-)

  739. Jess M. says:

This past Christmas, my little sister bought me that wonderful Cuisinart ice cream maker shown above. She knew she’d reap the benefits of me owning one, but who could blame her? Best present ever!

My favorite thing I’ve made with it (several times!) is a hazelnut gelato. Creamy, delicious, life-changing. For the best sister ever, I took her suggestion of making a sunbutter ice cream – it was a bit too powerful in my opinion, but she adored it. Next time I’d go a little less on the sun butter. BUT! We’ve decided that the next time I do make it, it also requires a fudge ripple in it. I’ve never rippled anything into the ice creams I’ve made so I’m a bit nervous on how it’ll turn out, but that’s next on the list.

I’d also like to make cookies ‘n cream because that is my absolute favorite flavor in the history of ice cream. No one does it like Turkey Hill, so I’ve been a bit hesitant to make it because I don’t want to disappoint myself.

All that said, I’d love those awesome ice cream bowls from Crate and Barrel. I’ll be moving into a new house soon and would love to start out with a nice splash of color in the cabinets. Of course the ice cream maker is going to be one of the first things set up in the kitchen :) Thanks!

I would like to be eligable for all of them. I don’t have anything at home like the things your giving away. My grandmother is oging to love this. She can’t have hard foods and she needs to gain weight. The doc says ice-cream is great… so she’ll be happy!

I’ve never tried my hand at homemade ice cream, but your posts have certainly intrigued me! But in order to make those, I most certainly need to get an ice cream maker first! I would love to have the free-standing ice cream maker.

Should I win, and at the risk of sounding incredibly boring, my fist at home ice cream attempt would have to be vanilla. My husbands jokes with my that I’m just a vanilla person. But I think it’d be great to make vanilla ice cream with the very best ingrediants I can find and try to buy really really good fresh vanilla beans. Then I’d learn to make cinnimon ice cream, which is my favorite, and I’d be in heaven!

I have been dying to get the Kitchen Aid Ice cream attachment but haven’t had a chance and thought this summer would be it but the purchase was put on hold as we were blessed with a baby boy through adoption in May. I would trade all the ice cream maker purchases in the world for this sweet gift we have been given. My first batch of ice cream would actually be a plain ole’ vanilla bean. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. Thanks for hosting this give away and thank you, thank you for this wonderful website.

  1001. Amy says:

I would like to try making black cherry ice cream. Although I would be happy to have any of the prizes, I would choose the Kitchen Aid ice-cream maker attachment first. Thank you for the opportunity! I have enjoyed trying many of your recipes!

  1002. Patricia V says:

Fresh peach ice cream is my husband’s favorite so my very first attempt at ice cream making would have to be peach!

Since I have a “virgin” Kitchen Aid attachment just waiting to be used, would you please enter me for the bowl/spoon sets and the book?

    Thanks for the opportunity.

I would love to try this seasons blueberry with some cardamom! Yum!!

  1005. Kristi says:

I would love to start making ice cream! I can’t believe I haven’t tried it yet given how much my husband loves ice cream. I would have to start with chocolate because my husband believes there is no other flavor!

So, I’d love any of the giveaways!

  1006. Ify says:

I think I’d try my hand at turtle! Fudge, caramel and pecans.

  1009. Rachel says:

This recipe for peach ice cream has now jumped to the top of my “to make” list. I love making ice cream and sharing it with my family. And I have some sour cream and peaches that need to be used soon. I think I’ll try to make this sometime this weekend.
Also I’d like to be considered for all three of the prizes. Thanks for doing this giveaway. It’s so cool! National ice cream months is probably my favorite month too. :)

  1010. Corey says:

I have been contemplating all week which ice cream maker to buy, either the attachment for my kitchen aid or free standing one from William Sonoma. I’ve never made homemade ice cream before as an adult. I remember helping my dad make strawberry ice cream as a kid in the salt and ice crank machine, but only a couple of times. I would love to start with the basics, a vanilla and chocolate and then add from there. The ice cream bible would be very helpful then!

  1011. katie says:

My favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies and Cream. I just made some in the French style 2 weekends ago and it was delicious. I would love to win the cookbook to learn some good Philadelphia style recipes as I have a knack for over cooking the custard!

  1012. Kassie says:

I love giveaways!! :) I’ve never made homemade ice cream but have always wanted to (first I need an ice cream maker!!) — my first attempt would definitely be Vanilla Bean … my fav!!

  1013. Rande says:

I have never made ice cream, but I would have to try making coffee

  1015. Dinah says:

All three prizes are awesome. I would be happy with any of them. My favorite ice cream to make is a peach apricot. Yum! Although I have recently been making a strawberry sorbet with buttermilk that is out of this world.

  1016. Julie G says:

I think this is destiny, I have been pining away for an ice cream machine! I would definitely make mint chocolate if I could!!

  1017. joelle says:

Peach ice cream…sounds amazing! I would love the super cute bowls and spoons to serve it in.

  1018. Stephanie Wiese says:

Hmmm… my mom made the best ice cream when I was a kid but I haven’t had homemade ocream since then. It’s been way too long! I think I would make strawberry first. Then chocolate. And then a vanilla with Heath bar.

I would love, love, love to win the ice cream maker! Oh, man that would be fantastic!!

  1019. shana says:

i have always wanted to make homemade ice cream! i would love the cuisinart ice cream maker to make some fresh strawberry ice cream this summer!

  1021. Marilyn says:

I recently had a lovely, local concoction of vanilla and crushed chocolate-covered pretzels. The salty-sweet-crunchy-soft combination was wonderful! I’ve got my eye on those cute bowls.

  1022. Katie says:

I’m wanting to try chocolate brownie ice cream at home. I usually stick to vanilla, so it would be fun to branch out. I would like to be eligible for any of the three giveaways – and thank you!

  1023. Chrissy C. says:

Kitchenmaid attachment or adorable bowls. :)

  1025. MNAnna says:

  1026. Kimberly says:

    Hi Annie!
What generous giveaways! You spoil us :)! I am new to ice cream making, so I am looking forward to trying out just about any flavor! I am tempted by the peach you raved about in this post, or even the strawberry you mentioned here too! I would like to be eligible for all three prizes, please!
    Thank you!

  1027. Jennifer H. says:

BANANA SPLIT ICE CREAM!!! Sweet banana ice cream with chunks of strawberries and pineapple with thick swirls of chocolate fudge. I would love the bowls, they are adorable!

  1029. Amibeth says:

Annie, you are awesome (and generous), thank you! What better way to celebrate National Ice Cream Month?! I’m new to homemade ice cream but I would start out with chocolate, my little boy’s very favorite – no fuss, true chocolate lover that he is. I received my KitchenAid for my birthday this year and have been dreaming of the ice cream attachment ever since, and The Perfect Scoop has been on my wishlist too. I’d love to win either of those. Thanks so much!

  1030. Janelle P says:

I have only really made vanilla and strawberry. I would love to try Oreo & cream ice cream.

  1031. Rachel says:

Kelsey, have you tried this recipe? http://allrecipes.com/recipe/easy-mint-chocolate-chip-ice-cream/detail.aspx
It’s a good one. I usually prefer chunked chocolate rather than mini chocolate chips. There is a chocolate mint ice cream recipe in The Perfect Scoop, but not a mint chocolate chip. One could probably be made by combining elements from two recipes. The cookbook has lots of other amazing recipes too.

  1032. Emily says:

coffee – I don’t have any ice cream gear so this is all great

  1033. Melinda says:

  1034. Cat T. says:

I’ve never made ice cream on my own before (I used to help my uncle make it when I was a kid. He loved peach, too!). I think I’d start with something basic like chocolate.

I’d want to win either the KA ice-cream maker attachment since I don’t have an ice cream maker or the set of bowls, which I would use for our nightly treat of store-bought (but from a regional producer) ice cream.

  1035. Carol says:

hmmmm, first I’d like to be considered for all three giveaways, and I’m a chocoholic so the first flavor would have to be something chocolaty – perhaps dark chocolate, chocolate chip with a black raspberry swirl (I have some fresh picked in the freezer). sounds yummy to me !

  1036. Alexa says:

I would love to try making vegan ice cream! Please consider me for just the third item. Thanks!

I would like to enter the 1st and 3rd, those bowls are too cute!

Just a basic vanilla. Please consider me for all three of your items.

I would like to try this one! I am eligable for all three please.

  1042. Amy says:

I would love to make some mint chocolate chip ice cream, although I love making fresh strawberry too! For the giveaways, I would love the Perfect Scoop book or the bowls!

  1043. Rebecca T. says:

I love cookie dough ice cream, but since I would be an ice cream making newbie, I would probably start with something simple like vanilla :)

I would love to win the ice cream maker (either one as I do have a Kitchen Aid mixer).

  1045. Racquel says:

Hey Annie! I don’t have an ice cream maker, and I’m dying to get one and venture into the world of homeade ice cream making! I think I’d keep it simple at first and do a vanilla bean, then add some yummy toppings to it! I don’t have any of your giveaways, so any of them would be fantastic! Thanks for having such a great blog!

  1046. Margaret says:

I would love a recipe for salted caramel ice cream. I would like the bowls and book as I just bought the kitchen aide attachment.

  1047. Jenny says:

I love the idea of ice-cream with basil, like a lime-basil sherbet!

I’d also love to be entered to win the Kitchenaid Attachment!

    Steph Gardner

I would love to win any of the items you are giving away!

  1052. Jen says:

I’m a huge fan of some of the seasonal ice creams, but not a huge fan of the artificial colors that usually accompany them. On that note, I would love to make pistachio or pumpkin ice cream.

  1053. Missy says:

I’ve never made ice cream before, but it’s something I would love to try this summer (I’m a teacher, so this is my time to experiment in the kitchen!). I think I would try cake batter – it’s my favorite at our local ice cream shop! I would be thankful for any of the three prizes!

  1054. Brie says:

I’m usually a chocaholic with icecream, but for homemade I prefer refreshing fruity ones. Raspberry and blackberry are two of my favorites.

  1055. Sara says:

I really want to try blueberry ice cream, or classic chocolate. Please enter me for all three!

  1056. Janet says:

I would make chocolate for me or strawberry for my 1 year old…she can eat practically a pint of them. I haven’t made ice cream since I was a kid so any of the prizes would be appreciated! Thanks Annie!

  1057. Katie says:

I’m excited about peach season, so peach! I already have an ice cream maker and have plenty of bowls, but I would love a copy of “Perfect Scoop.”

  1059. Larissa says:

I have been wanting to make my own ice cream for quite a while now. But my husband is a second year resident, and I’m a stay at home mom, so I’m sure you understand the lack of funds for an ice cream maker. But if I had one I would want to make some sort of chocolate/peanut butter combination. My husbands favorite!! Of course my first choice would be the maker, but those bowls are super cute! Thanks for the great give away!

  1060. Lisa T says:

I am an ice cream fanatic and would love to try making homemade ice cream. When I lived in Columbus, OH there was an amazing local gourmet ice cream maker who sold the flavor salted caramel. Since I now live in California far from Jenni’s Splendid Ice Cream? I would love to try to re-create that flavor myself. Any of the three prizes would be great, but the stand alone ice cream maker would be especially awesome.

  1061. Meredith says:

Triple Berry Cheesecake ice cream!!! :)

I’d like to be eligible for any of the giveaways!

  1062. Brynn says:

I want to make a Guinness ice cream or a margarita sorbet. I tried a guinness one before, but I didn’t use heavy cream. I used heavy whipping cream, and that has to be why it didn’t thicken. It kinda became a milky ice pop thingy. I have an ice cream maker already, so the ice cream bowls or book would be cool to get. Thank you, Brynn

  1063. Mia says:

I would love to make rocky Road! Its such a good combination of flavors.

  1064. Janet E says:

    Hi Annie,
I enjoy viewing your site…a great read and beautiful pictures. Ice cream always hits the spot for me – especially after a warm summer rainstorm. Thank you and have a fantastic weekend!!!

  1065. Lindsay says:

Yum – I’ve been obsessed with fruit this summer and peach ice cream sounds amazing right now! I have never made ice cream at home, so the first flavor I’d like to try would be my favorite: cookies and cream! And if I win, I’d love to get one of the two ice cream makers or the ice cream bowls with coordinating spoons (how adorable!!). Keeping my fingers crossed! :) Thanks for all of the awesome recipes and awesome giveaways!

  1066. Sami says:

I’ve been wanting to try making homemade ice cream! I think my first flavor would probably be strawberry or blueberry. Nothing beats summer berries!

  1068. Sally says:

I’ve always wanted to make homemade ice cream. With 110 temps here in Phoenix, anything cool and refreshing helps get you through our hot summers. All 3 prizes are good, but I would especially like to win the kitchen aid mixer ice cream attachment. For my first attempt, I would like to make Honey Lavender ice cream. It sounds good and it is not a common flavor you can pick up at any local grocery store.

  1069. Angela Tran says:

I would LOVE to make salted caramel ice cream! I had a scoop in San Francisco recently, and it’s amazing.

The ice cream maker would be amazing, but any of the items would be wonderful. Thanks!

  1076. Lori Kerr says:

At this very moment, I’m thinking “Fresh Cherry Galette Ice Cream” would be delicious. Fresh, tart cherry filling stirred into a lovely vanilla custard — and then some tasty, perfectly browned, buttery crust chunks mixed in and sprinkled on top. Sounds good to me!

  1077. Jenny V says:

Raspberry, with fresh berries from my garden! I don’t have an ice cream maker, and my husband loves all things ice cream, so I would be very happy with any of the prizes!

  1078. Katey says:

All three prizes are amazing!!! I would love any of them! Those ice cream bowls are absolutely adorable as well!! I don’t own an ice cream maker but if I did I would love to try making mint chocolate chip ice cream since that is my favorite :)

  1079. Rachel says:

I haven’t made ice cream since I was a kid and used a hand crank ice cream maker with lots of ice and salt! We used to make peppermint ice cream all the time so I would probably start with that and then move onto chocolate!

  1080. Maria says:

I haven’t made ice cream yet this year, but someday when I am feeling ambitious I’d like to make something like Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food: chocolate ice cream with caramel and marshmellow swirls and some sort of crunchy mix-in. And since I have an ice cream maker, I’d love either of the other prizes. Thank you!

  1081. Jennifer M says:

I want to try to make a salted caramel ice cream and some lower fat or lower sugar versions. I would like the Kitchen Aid attachment first, the cookbook second, and then the bowls. Thanks!

  1083. Lori says:

  1084. Emily S says:

I have tried making ice cream a few times and had pretty good results. I would love to figure out how to make chocolate and peanut butter ice cream. My equipment is not great so I would love any of the prizes. Thank you!

  1085. Sara E says:

I would definitely make anything with chocolate!

  1088. Amy G says:

I would LOVE to make homemade ice cream! I am a bit of an ice cream freak and my fav flavor is Baskin Robbins chocolate and peanut butter – it’s kind of a dark chocolate with ribbons of peanut butter rather than chunks. I would definitely like to learn to make this flavor since I don’t have a Baskin Robbins near me. (Yes, this IS sad!) Winning the ice cream maker – either one, would be amazing! Thanks!

  1089. Rebecca H says:

I’d love to try Key Lime Pie or Peach ice cream. YUM! :)

And I’m new to ice cream making, so the ice cream maker would be great. Please consider me for any of the prizes!

  1090. Tamara says:

I love ice cream, and summer in the south calls for it, almost on a daily basis. I’ve never tried making my own though. I’m a huge fan of cake batter ice cream with cookie dough and chocolate mixed in. I’d love to be able to make that. I’d love the ice cream maker!

1091. I haven’t personally made ice cream, though my parents have before. If I had only kept the ice cream attachment for my kitchenaid after we got married instead of returning it! That is definitely what I would love to win – the kitchenaid attachment!

  1092. Kristi G says:

I would love to try making bubblegum ice cream for the kids, but suddenly, peach seems like a great option too! Ice cream is (by far) my favorite dessert option, no matter what season we’re in! Making it at home only improves things.

1098. 2 years ago Baskin Robbins had a limited edition York Peppermint Pattie Ice Cream – mint ice cream, chocolate marbling & tiny York Peppermint patties – the chocolate coating melted the instant it touched my toungue. I am actually in Culinary school right now to get my Baking & Pastry Arts degree and I can’t wait to get to the ice creams and sorbets class……opening my own dessert cafe is my dream and homemade ice cream will be one of our featured items.

As for the giveaways, I’ll throw my name in for any of the three (stand-alone option re: the ice cream maker please). Thanks!!
